Hey, I’m Harry!

I’m a writer, photographer and music enthusiast, with over a decade’s worth of professional experience across creative, media and music industries.

I’ve worked as a journalist, editor, copywriter and layout designer.

I’m currently writing a book about Arctic Monkeys, which will culturally and critically examine their most recent album and track the course of its accompanying world tour. I’ve got some other fiction and non-fiction manuscripts in the works as well, each at varying levels of completion.

I also recently co-founded an independent record label, Unravelled Records. We’re releasing the self-titled debut EP from Mood Spill on June 5 and pressing it to 10-inch vinyl. Pre-orders are available now.

  • 2019 - 2024

    Produced almost 2000 articles covering emerging virtual and augmented reality technology. Managed editorial team, edited and prepared hundreds of articles for publication. Developed and maintained a team of ~10 external freelance writers, commissioning regular work, editing pieces for publication and providing writer feedback.

  • 2018

    Joined an existing team to develop a news content strategy for USA Today Sports Media Group’s esports vertical. Attended international live events in Los Angeles and Bangkok on behalf of the publication to produce live coverage, source exclusive interviews and represent the publication at post-match press conferences.

  • 2018 - 2021

    Oversaw production of original print publications (promotional magazines, catalogues) for IBL Lighting, including design, layout, copywriting and printing.

  • 2018 - 2019

    Co-founded an independent news site focused on esports. Attended international esports events, producing live coverage, securing interviews with players and representing the publication at press conferences.

  • Sought and selected fiction to be featured in the 2017 edition of Above Water. Assisted with graphic design and layout.

  • Provided feedback to writers with unsuccessful submissions and edited successful submissions to prepare them for publication.

Qualification & Skills

  • Bachelor of Arts in creative writing, University of Melbourne.

    Graduated 2019.

  • Completed Graphic Design: Design and Layout at RMIT in 2019.

    Extensive experience with graphic design across all previous and current positions, overseeing many large-scale projects and producing supporting graphics for online content.

  • Extensive experience with Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, InDesign, Illustrator and more.

  • Managed accounts, produced original content and scheduled posts across many social media platforms for all previous and current positions.
